Why does the app ask whether I’m a man or a woman?
Thai sentences end differently: men say ครับ (khráp), women say ค่ะ (khâ) or คะ (khá) in questions, and “I” is ผม or ฉัน. The app uses your choice to show the right words and play the matching voice. You can change it any time in Settings.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after the first launch. Each phrase’s audio is downloaded the first time you play it and then works without internet. Pronunciation scoring needs a connection.
How does pronunciation scoring work?
Tap the microphone next to a phrase, listen to the speaker, then say the phrase. Your recording is scored by Microsoft Azure AI Speech: an overall score and a score for each word. Recordings are not stored.
Why is my tone not reflected in the score?
The pronunciation score checks sounds and words, not tones. For tones, use the “Melody” chart: it shows how your voice goes up and down compared with the speaker, the expected tone of each syllable and a melody match.
The microphone doesn’t work.
Check that Khrap&Kha is allowed to use the microphone in your phone’s settings (iPhone: Settings → Khrap&Kha → Microphone; Android: Settings → Apps → Khrap&Kha → Permissions). Speak close to the phone in a quiet place.
How do I delete my data?
All your data is stored only on your phone. Uninstalling the app removes it. We don’t keep personal data on our servers.
